We live in an ocean of sound and vibration, constantly changing and affecting our own unique natural resonance. Stress causes this resonance to get out of tune. Practicing yoga improves our breath awareness and helps create more space in the body. Sound rides on the breath and helps to explore this space. Sound yoga helps us explore this space by shifting awareness to where the body is resonating.
Humming techniques, self-created sounds, and sound baths help us to reconnect with our own natural resonance. Some of the poses I use playfully demonstrate the use of diaphragmatic breathing to explore sounds, spaces and resonances more deeply.
"Hummingbird teaches us to drink deeply in the present moment and find the flowers that nourish our mind, body and spirit. Exploring your voice to hum and make sounds is a powerful medicine. It helps you see how to wear your life, where you hide, armor or hold back to protect yourself." - Bobbi
